*** Lots ***

Those items marked with an asterisk after the lot number (e.g. “177*”) are from a massive All-World accumulation; the collector of which hoarded any pages he came across from mixed lots and Single-Country collections and added further stamps to them filling gaps and adding fresh pages. Most are in binders, some loose on pages. Because of the nature of the collection there are not many ‘Earth-Shattering’ finds to be made - although we have seen many better stamps and cancels. You’ll need to spend time with these lots to see their full potential as they’re quite jumbled - it all adds to the fun (and sense of achievement when you unearth that hidden gem!)

Auction Viewing

Viewing is available in the shop during the week preceding the auction, at the auction venue from 5:45 or by appointment. Sorry but there is no viewing at the shop on the day of sale.

Shop News

Welcome to the "Christmas Sale"; it’s always proved popular in previous years, being perhaps one of the best attended and strongest bid on sales of the auction season. Usually by this time, those of you who buy presents for others have successfully located everything you need - and now look forward to treating yourself, or buying a sorting box to take your mind off the repeats of “Bridge Over the River Kwai” that’ll no doubt take up much of the forthcoming TV schedules again. For those of you who live further away, as it’s quite close to Christmas and you may be due a few days off, why not make a long weekend of it and visit the Christmas Markets in Edinburgh, the recently re-vamped National Museum on Chambers Street, or the Castle? The shop should have quite a bit of new stock to sift through too. Because of the time of year and possible delays in the post, this catalogue is being sent out slightly earlier than normal, but unfortunately the viewing is still restricted to the week before the auction, as the shop will be closed on 8th, 9th & 10th of December. For those of you lucky enough to be successful with postal bids, we intend to post out any winnings between Christmas & New Year; it may be possible to get the odd few things away before then. If you have any special postage instructions, please let us know. Once again, the Traditional Christmas card is missing from this catalogue this year. We had many supportive comments from customers last year who didn’t really notice the absence of their card, but appreciated that the costs saved were donated to Charity. (Marie Curie Cancer Relief who got the benefit from the monies saved last year being donated to them, were very grateful.) The discount voucher that went with the card has now ceased, but anyone bringing this page of the catalogue to the shop will be entitled to a 10% discount on shop stock (not Auction Purchases, I’m afraid; and normal terms & conditions for acceptance of vouchers apply to this offer)
