Phone Card Collection

As mentioned in the last catalogue, here’s the MASSIVE collection of phone cards promised for this sale. We’re not expecting much interest from the usual attendees at the auction, but the word has been put around and there may well be someone who fancies taking on this collection intact. It is housed in 40+ albums, many of which are over-filled and hold in excess of 400 cards each, plus other bundles in boxes; there are many countries represented, from the unusual & outlandish, with cards produced for collectors, to general service cards from popular countries (many of the cards have never been used and would have had an enormous face value when purchased. There are several cards which (at the peak of the phonecard collecting boom) would have changed hands for prices into three figures. The potential on this lot is great - either for tucking away, for dribbling it onto the market a little at a time, or starting a fresh collecting field with this ‘Super-starter collection’! The estimate is set on the low side to encourage bidding, but it’s worth placing a bid anyway in case no other bids are received! Owing to its size and weight, this lot won’t be taken to the auction venue, nor will it be posted out! If you have any questions on this lot, so don’t hesitate to get in touch (the best way would probably be by email - stampshop40@btinternet.com)
1Phonecard collection in its entirety as detailed above. (10,000s)100

Ex Dealer’s Stock

(Refers to all lot numbers with an asterisk in this catalogue) These are stock held on stockcards and include sets & odds, often lots have some minor varieties, perf. and wmk. varieties, etc. QV to QE, although the bias is towards GV- early QE. The condition of some is questionable, although there are MANY decent items too. Any catalogue values annotated on the cards themselves usually refers to the 2001 SG catalogue (the most recent available when they were priced) and any retail prices are more than 15 years out of date! Estimates on these lots are mostly on the low side to encourage bidding.
